This is my story, and it might be yours too.

I’m going to say it: we are meant to be insulin sensitive.

But thanks to the modern American diet, most of us are drowning in sustained, elevated insulin levels, and it’s destroying our health. The human body was never designed to handle this constant carb overload—and it’s why so many of us are stuck, frustrated, and defeated.

At 278 pounds, I felt lost. I looked in the mirror and couldn’t even see the weight anymore, so I took a picture. And when I looked at it on my phone, I didn’t recognize myself.

I was exhausted, angry, and completely stuck. The worst part? I felt invisible—like my weight was all people saw. If you’ve ever felt that way, you’re not alone. I had tried everything, including endless rounds of Whole30. Spoiler: eating ‘as much as you want’ of foods that still spike your insulin doesn’t work. It’s just a miserable, slow grind that leaves you wondering what’s wrong with you.

That’s when I said enough is enough. I stopped following the myths and started eating the way my body was designed to function. After all, what did I have to lose -- nothing else has worked?

Today, as I write this I know exactly how my body works and I want to share it with you!

What happened next changed everything.

The person in the first two pictures wasn’t thriving. I was tired, frustrated, and invisible. Everything changed when I made one simple decision: to stop following the rules of diets that don’t work and start fueling my body the way it was designed to—with 70% of my calories coming from fat and the right mix of fat. Looking back, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

In just 149 days, I’ve lost 50 pounds. The journey has been simple, sustainable, and eye-opening. Through the Dietary Fat Method (DFM), I’ve discovered how to control insulin—the fat storage hormone—and master the modern American diet. On average, I’ve lost a healthy 2.4 pounds per week, but the transformation goes far beyond the scale.

My mental clarity is sharper, my energy levels are higher, and my sleep has never been better. I no longer snore, I heal faster, and I accomplish more every day. DFM isn’t just a way to lose weight—it’s a way to live. It’s a path I’ll continue for the rest of my life.
